Must watch: This video of Rourkela will leave you awestruck!

Bhubaneswar: Rourkela, the Steel City of Odisha, is known for its picturesque landscape and imposing architecture with bridges, temples, churches and educational institutions dotting the skyline. Though Rourkela in Sadri language means “our village”, the city otherwise known as ‘Mini India’ is home to people of diverse culture.

Its ethereal beauty has been captured in moving lens and made into a six-minute long video, using techniques such as aerial shots and time-lapse sequences that makes it a visual delight.

It showcases major parts of the city — from Space Chhak to Sarana Chhak, from Maa Tarini temple to Hamirpur church and from Koel river to Brahmani bridge — at different times of the day and night.

“We wanted to present the beauty of Rourkela on the digital platform for the entire country to see. So far, no such project has ever been made that portrays the city in all its splendour,” said Krishna Samal, the director of photography (DOP) for this project.

The entire shoot lasted over five months and the post-production took another two months, under the direction of Dibakar Rajhans and Pravakar Rajhans and their team of drone pilot Jack Ximon and assistant DOP Kiran Kumar, along with Krishna.
