Mysterious murder in Odisha: Woman killed at home, body of hubby, son found 80 km away

Angul: A mysterious triple murder rocked Odisha’s Angul district today as a woman was found murdered at Gambharimalia village near Kishore Nagar here and her husband was found dead around 80 km away from the village.

The deceased were identified as Biranchi Nayak and his wife Tarani Nayak.

While Tarani was found killed with her throat being slit, her husband was found dead in a similar condition from under a bridge at Pokanda near Athmallik in the district.

More shockingly, their eight-year-old son, who went missing after the incident, was later found lying dead at a village near the bridge. However, their two-year-old daughter was reportedly safe at home.

According to a police official, it appears that some miscreants first killed the woman and then forcibly took her husband with them. They later murdered him as well.

Police have started investigation into the triple murder. Though the reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the killings were a fallout of dacoity bid as some ornaments and Rs 1.75 lakh, which was taken as loan by Biranchi for business purpose recently and kept at home, has been looted.
