Berhampur: Mystery shrouded death of a medical student who reportedly died of drug overdose at Berhampur's MKCG Medical College and Hospital (MCH) in Ganjam district of Odisha here today. The deceased was identified as Subhani Patnaik, PG first year student in the Dermatology, Venereology, Leprosy Department of the MCH.
While the exact reason of death is yet to be ascertained, official sources said she was taking medication for migraine and died of drug overdose. Police said they reached the spot on getting information from the medical officer.
"We got a call from the PG Women's hostel about the incident. The medical student was unresponsive and rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. There has been no allegation from the family members or suspicion of foul play until now. A case of un-natural death has been registered and investigation is underway," they informed.
