NAAC grants ‘A’ grade accreditation to KIIT University

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has granted the coveted ‘A’ Grade accreditation to KIIT University.

KIIT secured a high score of 3.48 out of 4 points (87%), joining the league of 11 elite institutions like IITs, JNU, TISS and the likes. KIIT was given the top grade on the basis of the report submitted by the 15-member NAAC Peer Team, said an official release of KIIT University.

The visiting team assessed the quality standards of the University and found it in tandem with respect to the criteria relating to the educational processes and outcomes, covering the curriculum, teaching-learning, evaluation, faculty, research, infrastructure, learning resources, organisation, governance, financial well-being and student services prescribed by the council.

KIIT University in a short span of just 12 years has evolved into a nationally acclaimed and multi-disciplinary institution providing quality education in technology, medicine, law, media, biotechnology, management, rural managements, etc. Earlier also, in 2001 and 2008, KIIT was granted ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. This is for the 3rd time NAAC has accredited KIIT in the top grade, the release said.

Under the new methodology, NAAC grades the institutions for each Key Aspect under four categories, like A, B, C and D, denoting Very Good, Good, Satisfactory and Unsatisfactory levels respectively. After assessing KIIT through its seven-point criteria, NAAC granted ‘A’ grade to KIIT, placing it in ‘Very Good’ category.

On receiving the coveted A’ grade, Dr A Samanta, founder, KIIT Group of Institutions attributed it as the achievement of the combined efforts of the faculty and students of various campuses of KIIT University. KIIT’s journey on the path of excellence will continue, he reiterated.
