Bhubaneswar: The Nandankanan Zoological Park on the outskirts of Odisha capital, which was closed for indefinite period after cyclone FANI, will reopen for public from May 21, Information & Public Relations Department Secretary said.
On the other hand, Jayadev Vatika at Khandagiri here will reopen tomorrow.
Loss of over Rs 537 crore has been assessed by the Forest & Environment Department in the cyclone. While around nine lakh trees have been damaged in forest and sanctuary areas, over five lakh trees were uprooted/damaged outside the forest areas in the cyclonic storm. This apart, eight lakh saplings were damaged.
