Narasimha Jayanti is celebrated on Vaisakh Chaturdashi of the Shukla Paksha. Narsimha is the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
He had appeared as a man-lion and killed demon Hiranyakashipu on this day. Lord Vishnu devotees observe fast on this day.

Rituals:Â Devotees perform special puja on this day with idol or picture of Lord Narasimha and Goddess Laxmi.
The devotees wake up early in the morning, take bath and wear new clothes. They offer gram dal and jaggery to the deity. Other offerings include flowers, sweets, kumkum, kesar and coconut.
Fasting on this day starts with sunrise and continues till next day’s sunrise. The fast observer can have one meal during the day. However, the food should be without any kind of cereals or grains.
Narasimha mantra is recited by devotees with rudraksha mala to please the God.
