Balasore: A possible train accident certainly got averted between Soro and Bahanaga railway stations in Odisha's Balasore district today as a crack was detected on the track before the movement of Kharagpur-Bhubaneswar Fast Passenger train on it.

The train resumed its service after railway staff repaired the concerned track on war footing.

According to reports, a gap of around 8 inch developed on the track due to a damaged concrete slab under the track.

The incident comes four days after five wagons of a goods train moving from Dhamra to Tata detached from the engine and the train arrived at Khantapada station in the same district covering a distance of around 2 km without the wagons.
