The Odisha men’s and women’s teams won the qualifying matches in the 64thNational Basketball Championship at the Thyagaraj stadium here today.

Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee/Image of Sport-US PRESSWIREIn the men’s event, Odisha beat Himachal Pradesh 92-70 with Ashok Kumar Nayak, Feroz Barua, Ashish Ranjan Behera and Sashikant Mohanty scoring 22, 19, 13 and 12 points respectively.

In the women’s event, the state team beat Jammu & Kashmir 70-29. Rajashree Sahu and Urbashi Mallick were the top scorers with 23 and 14 points respectively.

The event, which kicked off on February 28, would conclude on March 5.
