The Odisha team won six gold, two silver and two bronze medals in the National Championship in Athletics that concluded at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on March 15./sambad-english/media/post_attachments/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Athletics.jpg)
The six gold medals were won by Debashish, Sagarika, Leena Rout and Pritam Dalei of Open Learning Systems (OLS), Bhubaneswar and Rajesh Meher and Karna Das of Physically Handicapped School (PHS), Bargarh.
Neelachal of OLS and Abinash of PHS won a silver medal each while Leena Rout and Sangita Nayak of OLS bagged a bronze medal each.
A total of 740 athletes from 27 states had participated in the four-day event which was organised by the Special Olympics Bharat and the ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
