Bhubaneswar, Dec 14:

Use of police and administrative machinery by the Naveen Patnaik government to foil today’s ‘Satyagrah Samabesh’ is an example of black rule, said chief advisor of Navanirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS) Soumya Ranjan Patnaik.

“We fail to understand why the government behaved in such manner? When all have equal right to come to Bhubaneswar we fail to comprehend why farmers were prevented from coming to Bhubaneswar. It appears farmers stink and are untouchables for Naveen babu. He considers Odisha’s farmers as enemies. Use of police and administrative machinery to restrain farmers from coming to Bhubaneswar is an example of black rule,” said Patnaik addressing a press conference here.

Patnaik challenged Naveen for a face to face battle since he has considered farmers as his enemies.

“By today’s action Naveen babu has termed farmers as his enemies. We challenge him for a face to face battle. Jo jeeta wohi Sikandar,” Patnaik stated.

Patnaik said the government should not rejoice on succeeding to foil today’s satyagrah and warned that every farmer household in Odisha would observe satyagrah from tomorrow till their demands are achieved.

“Every farmer in the state will wear black badge from tomorrow. Every farmer household will hoist a black flag atop his house. This satyagrah will continue till our demands are met with,” Patnaik announced.

Strongly condemning and protesting against the arrest of NKS convener Akshaya Kumar, its associate convener Seshadev Nanda and several farmers who were arrested or detained today, Patnaik  demanded their immediate unconditional release.
