Naveen launches ‘Odisha-Mo Parivar’

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Supremo Naveen Patnaik today launched Odisha-Mo Parivar, party’s social welfare programme, with an aim to strengthen the party at grassroots in the state.

While the BJD government is focusing on good governance with implementation of 5T initiatives, the party initiated the programme to make its presence in three major fields.

Announcing the party’s programme, Patnaik said that Odisha Mo-Parivar programme is a tribute to late Biju Patnaik, who had always been working for welfare of Odisha people and lending support to poor and needy people. Following the footprints of the legendary leader, the party is committed to serve the state.

“Blessed by people of Odisha, the BJD has been serving the motherland with dedication,” he said.

Odisha CM described entire 4.5 crore people of Odisha as his own family saying, “I have always been working for their welfare. I have flagged off Mo-Parivar programme to take social welfare projects forward.”

The programme will focus on three major areas — environment, healthcare services and assistance to poor and deprived people.

Under the programme, the BJD will undertake massive plantation drive by creating awareness among people about environment protection.

The CM asked everyone to join hands together for social programmes like blood donation.

“Since BJD has achieved success in its blood donation programme ‘Jeevan Bindu’, now I want to transform it into a social movement,” Patnaik said.

Similarly, the party will work towards people, who are working in various sectors outside the state and overseas under extreme conditions. Under the programme, the BJD workers will stand as the support for victims and provide aid to their families.

For the proper execution of Odisha-Mo Parivar, the party chief appointed BJD member Arup Patnaik as its convener and five others — Pinaki Mihsra, Achyuta Samanta, Chandrasekhar Sahoo, Atanu Sabyasachi and Nalinikant Pradhan as co-conveners.

The party leaders Manohar Randhari, Ananta Narayan Jena, Sudhir Samal, Sushant Rout, Sanjeev Mallick, Latika Pradhan, Rita Tarai, Bharti Singh, Sunita Biswal, Sandhyakumari Nayak, Dejalin Mohapatra and Gorahari Mishra have been appointed as the members of the programme.
