Naveen reacts to Modi’s ‘Tripura-like victory in Odisha’ statement

Bhubaneswar: At a time when the three major political parties in Odisha are leaving no stone unturned to woo voters ahead of the upcoming polls, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reaffirmed his confidence of winning the elections.

In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement yesterday that Odisha will have results like Tripura, Patnaik said BJD will perform very well in the upcoming elections.

“We (BJD) will do very well in elections as I said before. We will do very well, you will see,” said the party Supremo.

Referring to BJP’s poll prospects in Odisha in the upcoming general elections, Modi yesterday said Odisha will be the second Tripura, where the BJP won a comfortable majority in the last Assembly elections, dismantling the Left Front government of 25 years.

“Odisha Hindustan ko surprise kar dega, Is baar Odisha dusra Tripura ban jayega. (Odisha will surprise India. It will become a second Tripura),” said Modi while addressing ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ programme via video conferencing from Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
