In the wake of the mismanagement of the Nabakalebara, speculation was rife about some ministers getting the sack and others taking their place. But with the Chief Minister and BJD supremo ruling out a reshuffle, incumbent ministers who were believed to be on the firing line are now relieved.

Patnaik, who returned here from his four-day trip to New Delhi, told reporters that talks were on with the Central government over Posco and the chief secretary has been directed to pursue the matter.

The Chief Minister said his party was maintaining equidistance from the Congress and the BJP.

On the Nabakalebara fiasco, the Chief Minister said strong action will be taken those found guilty.

Disappoving the stalling of the Parliament by the Congress led opposition, Patnaik said; “The House should be allowed to function. All issues can be discussed on the floor of the House. There is no point holding up proceedings.”
