Naveen woos investors in Bengaluru ahead of Make in Odisha Conclave-2022

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reiterated Odisha government’s commitment to provide best infrastructure and incentives to investors.

“Odisha is committed to provide an ecosystem for job-linked industrial growth. If any state is providing X incentive for promotion of business opportunities, we will provide X plus. Our government walks the talk,” Patnaik said while addressing the Odisha Investors’ Meet in Bengaluru today.

The state government held the investors’ meet in Bengaluru in the run-up to the Make in Odisha Conclave-2022.

Patnaik lauded the entrepreneurs for making India a major force in the world in terms of technology and manufacturing.

“I have come to invite you all to Odisha. You all should become part of our transformative journey. Odisha is now progressing fast in every sector. On the strength of our abundant natural resources, skilled human resources and stable governance, Odisha is emerging as a leading destination for industries and investment,” Patnaik said.

Most of the top Indian IT companies have established their centres in Bhubaneswar. The Odisha government is also providing continuous support to the Startup ecosystem in the capital city, Patnaik added.

 Odisha is ranked among the top states of India in terms of live manufacturing investments and has been accorded the ‘Achiever’ status in the recently released Ease of Doing Business ratings.

“The Make in Odisha Conclave-2022 is a platform for our state to showcase our growth story and present what we have to offer to investors across the globe. It is a platform for industry captains and thought-leaders to talk about the future outlook of various industrial sectors,” said the Chief Minister.

Patnaik also invited the investors and entrepreneurs to the Make in Odisha Conclave-2022, scheduled to be held in Bhubaneswar from November 30 to December 4 this year.

“Come, invest in Odisha and be our partner in ushering in a new Industrial Age in Odisha,” said the Chief Minister while inviting the entrepreneurs to set up their industries in the state.

Over 400 delegates of various industries from across India participated in the meet.

Speaking on the occasion, Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb said, “Under Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the state government has taken a whole-of-government approach towards service delivery to citizens and businessmen. We are becoming a destination of choice for investors across the country. I would like to welcome all the industry captains, associations and their members present here to come and explore Odisha as your next investment destination.”

Participating in the event, Industries Department Principal Secretary Hemant Sharma made a presentation on the industrial ecosystem in Odisha.

FICCI Karnataka State Council Chairman K Ulas Kamath welcomed the gathering. “Odisha is registering impressive GSDP growth rates year-after-year and industrializing at break-neck speed,” he said while elaborating Odisha’s transformation story.

Electronics & IT Department Secretary Manoj Mishra spoke about the emerging IT/ITeS ecosystem in the state. He also highlighted the state government’s policies on information technology, data centre, BPO and electronics to further strengthen the ESDM and IT/ITeS sector and attract new investments to Odisha.

Start-Up Odisha Executive Chairman Dr. Omkar Rai focused on the ever-growing start-up ecosystem in the state. He informed the delegates that Odisha has been recognised as a ‘top performer’ and a ‘leader’ by the DPIIT of Union Government in States’ Start-up Ranking for the year 2018 & 2019 respectively.”

Senior Officials from the industries Department & IPICOL were present in the meeting.

Notably, the state government has held similar meets in New Delhi and Mumbai to showcase its investment potential.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister met several industrialists across sectors to discuss their plans for Odisha and invite them personally to the Make in Odisha Conclave-2022.

During the discussions, Patnaik highlighted the major pro-business reforms undertaken by his government and asked the industrialists to explore Odisha as a potential destination for their business.
