NCB picks up 5 Odisha students over illegal ganja trade

Bhubaneswar: A team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) regional office in Karnataka has picked up five students from Odisha’s Jeypore town in connection with illegal ganja trade.

A 15-member team of NCB Karnataka regional office picked up Himanshu Sekhar Nayak, Raja Mandal, Shiva Datta, K Amarnath and Soham from their rented accommodation at Parabeda Sahi of Jeypore in Koraput district on November 13, sources said.

One among them is pursuing engineering and the other four are the students of Vikram Dev University at Jeypore, sources added.

Jeypore Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Harish Bisi has confirmed the development.

“A team from the NCB regional unit in Karnataka has picked up five students from their rented accommodation here in connection with illegal ganja trade in the night hours of November 13,” said an official of Jeypore Town police.
