Nearly 7000-bedded working women’s hostel to come up on Odisha capital outskirts

Bhubaneswar: The state government will build a mega hostel for working women on the outskirts of Odisha capital with an expenditure of Rs 329 crore.

The state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved the turnkey tender for the construction of the hostel. The project will be funded by the SIDBI and executed in 27 months, said Chief Secretary PK Jena.

The hostel will come up at the Seafood Park at Deras in Khurda district. It can accommodate as many as 6,952 working women, revealed the Chief Secretary.

“The state government will construct the hostel to provide safe and secure accommodation to women working in seafood processing sector and other industries in the locality. The hostel will be developed with all social and community infrastructure,” he said.
