Nearly Rs 2 lakh cash looted from motorcycle dickey in front of bank in Odisha

Rourkela:  In a broad daylight heist, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 1.91 lakh from a motorcycle dickey of a petrol pump staff  in front of Canara Bank in Uditnagar area here today.

The incident took place at around  1 PM when Paramjit Singh, a staff of Beldihi petrol pump in Sundargarh, collected the cash from an office at Power House Road here and went to deposit it in State Bank of India (SBI) Uditnagar branch. As the bank was crowded, he went to Canara Bank’s branch in the same locality for an RTGS.

Keeping the Rs 1.91 lakh cash in the dickey, he went inside the bank for RTGS. In the  meantime, the miscreants break came and broke opened the dickey before decamping with the cash.

On receiving information, Uditnagar police reached the spot for an inquiry. After examining the CCTV footage, the cops began an investigation into the incident.
