Bhubaneswar: The Union Health Ministry has postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-PG) 2022, which was scheduled to be held on March 12.
The exam has been postponed by six to eight weeks and the fresh schedule for the same will be announced soon.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court was hearing a plea seeking postponement of the examination. The petition was filed in the apex court to postpone the March 12 exam date, as announced by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
The petitioners had also sought some changes in the internship deadline. They had claimed that many of them were busy with COVID-19 duty whereas their internships were postponed and due to this, they will not be able to meet the internship deadline scheduled on May 31, 2022. They sought an extension of the deadline so that the candidates can complete their internships.
