Sambalpur, June 15:

Chairman of Ama Odisha and editor of Sambad Soumya Ranjan Patnaik on Saturday urged the students to always regard the 3-Ms as the golden mantra in their lives.

SRP“These 3 Ms are- your Mother, Motherland and Mother-tongue. You can never hope to master any other language unless you know are proficient in your mother-tongue”, he said while presiding over CHSE Plus Two Science Champ-2014, a public function meant  to felicitate meritorious students who had done well in the exams.

Gracing the function as the chief guest, former vice chancellor of Utkal University of Culture Prof Sadhu Charan Panda said  a balanced curriculum and education system can help personality building among students. However, in this age of stiff competitions, the students are deprived of a balanced educational diet, he lamented.

The function, organized by Sambad’s western Odisha edition and IBS, was inaugurated by former vice chancellor of Brahmapur University Dr Aditya Prasad Padhi who laid emphasis on honing the inherent strength and talents of the students.

On the occasion, the guests felicitated students who passed the Plus Two Science exam with flyng colours this year, as well as some distinguished teachers from western Odisha.

Vineet Kumar Das, who topped Western Odisha district and ranked second in Odisha in the annual Plus Two Science examinations this year, received special commendation and felicitation for his superb performance.

Among others, general manager of Sambad’s Western Odisha edition Arabinda Das, IBS director Gupteswar Meher and assistant director Sharmitha Meher were present.
