New guidelines: Visitors to reveal identity before entering schools in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to ensure “safe and secure environment” in schools across Odisha, the state School & Mass Education Department today issued several guidelines.

“We have issued some guidelines under which vendors selling food items will not be allowed inside the school premises. Visitors going inside the school campus will have to reveal their identity to the school authorities. Besides, the duration for which he/she stays inside the school premises will be monitored,” said Ranjana Chopra, School & Mass Education Department Secretary, today.

“This apart, there should be an attendant from the school in the school bus. Police verification of bus drivers, cleaners and contractual staff of schools should be done,” she said.

“Junior students shouldn’t be allowed to washroom without supervision and there should be separate toilets for staff and students. We want to ensure a safe and secure environment for students in schools,” she added.
