Rourkela: A man was allegedly shot dead by his elder brother at a New Year feast in Bisra area of Odisha's Sundargarh district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Khirodhar Singh (26) of Teterkela.

As per reports, Khirodhar and his friends had arranged a feast near Teterkela Chhak on the occasion of the New Year.

Later, his elder brother Umesh Singh arrived at the scene and fired at him over family dispute.

The victim sustained bullet injuries and died on the spot.

Police recovered the body for post-mortem and detained four persons, including Umesh, for questioning in connection with the killing.
