Newborn found dead at hospital toilet in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: Body of a newborn boy was recovered from the toilet of District Headquarters Hospital in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur today.

Attendant of a patient spotted the body at the toilet pan being packed in a polythene bag this morning. Hospital authorities, on being informed, recovered the body.

The authorities have initiated investigation into the matter. Doctors, nurses and hospital staff are being questioned for further probe.

“The body has been sent for post-mortem. We are trying to ascertain the circumstances under which the body was abandoned. Action will be taken against anyone found guilty,” said CDMO Ajay Kumar Baitha.
