Jeypore/Bhubaneswar: A newly married youth from Jeypore town in Koraput district lost his battle of life to Covid-19. The deceased, identified as M. Hemagiri Rao aged 41 breathed his last at 3:40 PM yesterday at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after being hospitalized for 30 days.
Rao married to one A. Padma from the Jeypore town on May 21 while adhering to Covid-19 guidelines. He, however, tested positive for Covid-19 three days after his marriage. The same day he was admitted to the Jeypore Covid Hospital and remained there till June 4.
As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Aditya Hospital in Bhubaneswar and put on ventilator. Yesterday afternoon he passed away while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The financial condition of Rao, who was doing business, was severely affected during the lockdown. Following his death, his wife and mother are finding it difficult to make ends meet.
