Newly-wed woman killed by in-laws in Odisha’s Puri

Puri: A newly-wed woman was allegedly murdered by her in-laws over dowry demand at Puruna Delanga under Delanga police limits in Odisha’s Puri district, today.

The deceased, identified as Laxmi Priya Mohapatra, had married Pradip Kumar Mohapatra of the locality eight months ago. She was being tortured by her in-laws who were demanding dowry from her after the marriage, Laxmi Priya’s father alleged, adding that they killed her daughter today.

Police have recovered the body and started investigation into the incident.
