Newlywed Odisha man fakes own kidnapping to get rid of wife

Sambalpur: Less than a month after wedding, a man faked his own kidnapping in a film style in an attempt to go away from wife.

The incident was reported from Burla area in Sambalpur district.

The Burla police arrested the person and his sibling for the fake abduction.

According to reports, Pinku Singh of Goshala locality under Burla police limits decided to marry his lady love of the same locality after staying in relationship with the young woman since a long time. On May 30 this year, the couple left their houses and tied the knot in a court in Bhadrak district on June 20. After marriage, the newlywed couple returned to Burla and started living together in a rented a house.

On July 12, Pinku had visited a shop with his wife and during the period, two unidentified persons allegedly kidnapped in a car. Left with no option, the newlywed woman informed about the incident to her father and later approached the police.

The woman lodged a complaint at the Burla Police Station suspecting her husband’s family members behind his abduction.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and initiated investigation. During the probe, police found an unexpected scoop that surprised all.

Police source said that Pinku was under pressure from his family as he had married a girl, who was not from their caste. To get out of such situation, he decided to leave his wife forever. He plotted a kidnapping conspiracy in support of his younger brother Bikash Singh and one of his friends. As per the plan, he staged his own kidnapping drama that led to his arrest.
