Bhubaneswar: In a heartwarming initiative, a charity musical event was organised at the Bagchi Karunashraya Palliative Care Centre in Bhubaneswar by My Voice Musical Platform. The performance aimed to bring comfort and joy to terminally ill cancer patients receiving care at the centre.
Saroj, Public Relations Officer of Bagchi Karunashraya, briefed the gathering about the centre’s compassionate work. Located on Infosys 2 Road, the palliative care unit provides free medical treatment and support to patients in the advanced stages of cancer. It also offers home-based palliative services at no cost.
The event was spearheaded by My Voice Musical Platform owner Prabhat Kumar and featured singers from the Vinavadini Musical Group. Their soulful performances brought smiles to the faces of patients and staff alike. The event also saw the felicitation of cancer survivor Suchitra Mishra, who was honoured for her strength and resilience.
Among the performers were singers Prabhat, Biswanath, Tarun, Jyoti Prakash, Chandi Prasad, Padmaja, Sailaja, Binodini, Suchitra, Gitanjali, Daizy, Amita, Sonali, Gagan Bihari, Sudhir, Mahendra, Subhajit, Atulya, and Ramakanta. Their collective voices transformed the hospital atmosphere into one of celebration and emotional upliftment.
Adding to the festive spirit, the traditional Raja Parba festival was also observed during the programme. Patients, staff, and artists came together to mark the occasion by sharing poda pitha and lunch, creating a sense of family and belonging.
Staff and patients expressed heartfelt gratitude to the singers and organisers, noting how the event spread delight, peace, and positivity. Singers, in turn, shared how fulfilling it was to perform at such a noble facility and connect through music.
