Rourkela: Executives of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant who have been elevated to the post of General Managers and Deputy General Managers received their promotion orders from the Director In-Charge at a function held in Manthan Conference Hall today.
Alok Verma, Director In-Charge (DIC) RSP with additional charge of DIC (ISP & DSP) presented the promotion letters, sweets, and a book ‘The Art of Thinking Clearly’ to the 23 executives who have been elevated to the post of General Managers and 41 executives who got promoted as Deputy General Managers.
Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Biswa Ranjan Palai, ED (Works), Anil Kumar, ED (MM), M P Singh, ED (Mines) and Dr. JK Acharya, CMO In-Charge (M&HS) were present on the occasion.
Verma congratulated the senior officers on their well-deserved promotions and encouraged the executives to keep trying new things and take bold decisions when necessary.
“The new promotion brings huge responsibility on your shoulders. Despite your routine jobs, your passion should drive you from today onwards. Take small steps of improvement everyday” he said.
The DIC also exhorted the senior executives to imbibe the qualities of leadership like courage, integrity, and perseverance.
Verma stressed that the executives will have a major role to play in making SAIL the lowest cost steel producer in the country by 2030.
The Executive Directors also congratulated the newly promoted GMs and DGMs and encouraged them to excel in their respective areas of work fulfilling the goals of the company.
Several of the newly promoted executives expressed gratitude to the management for recognizing their efforts. They pledged to make every possible effort to enhance the performance of the Steel Plant.
S Badpanda, GM (HR – OD), and Ms. Simpi Patel, Deputy Manager (HR-OD) coordinated the programme.
It is worth mentioning here that 190 Executives and 1047 Non-Executives got promoted to the next higher grade yesterday. The promotion orders were handed over by the Executive Directors, CGMs and HoDs in different functions organized across the Plant.
