NIA team picks up student from Odisha capital for questioning

Bhubaneswar:  A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today picked up a student from Khandagiri area here for questioning at an undisclosed place.

The NIA team with help of Odisha Crime Branch (CB) and the Commissionerate Police detained the suspect. However, the link behind the detention is yet to be ascertained.

The NIA spoke to a student at Khandagiri police station in connection with a case they are investigating . They left after speaking to the student. No one is detained or arrested, informed Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi requesting mediapersons to not disclose the name of the student.

“Media is requested not to go after the student as NIA has completed its interrogation and left. We request media not to disclose the name of the student till the investigating agency decides to prosecute him,” he added.

As per information, the case in which the student was interrogated is not related to terrorism,” the CP asserted.
