Niali: There is no stopping to the death of sheep in Nilai area of Odisha's Cuttack district even as an 18-member special team from Similipal National Park, headed by Baripada DFO Sanjay Kumar Swain, reached here yesterday to search the killer animal/animals.

The unidentified 'mystery' animal last night killed three sheep at Natigaon here and injured six others in the area, reports said.

The animal entered the shed and killed 3 sheep belonging to Tophan Parida of the village, reports added.

On the other hand, the special team has started search operation to trace the wild animal, suspected to be a wolf or a pack of wolves locally called rama siyala.

The team conducted aerial surveillance by flying drones over Govindpada, Baharana and Olansa. It has also set up eight trap cameras in Barimunda forest.

Notably, over 160 sheep have been killed by the unidentified creature in Niali area leading to panic among the locals.
