The Orissa High Court today granted interim stay on proceedings for execution of Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Sri Jagannath temple servitor Jayakrushna Mahasuara, brother of Damodar Mahasuara till November 7 in connection with the case pertaining to his alleged involvement in the Niladri Bije disturbance.

The High Court ordered Jaykrushna to submit an undertaking to the Puri Collector through an affidavit by November 5.

The Court while stressing on mutual settlement has directed the public prosecutor to discuss the matter with the Collector.

“The High Court in its directions said that if the petitioner submits an undertaking to the Collector by November 5 stating that they would not indulge in such indiscipline during the next Rath Yatra. Further, the public prosecutor has been instructed if the issue can be mutually resolved between them. Only then the matter will be taken up for hearing on November 7,”informed Jayakrushna’s counsel Subrat Nayak
