Nimapara NAC official suspended for dereliction in duty during COVID-19 crisis

Puri:  Executive Officer Mohan Charan Jena of Nimapara NAC in Puri district was placed under suspension today on charges of gross negligence and dereliction in duty during COVID-19 crisis.

The Housing and Urban Development Department suspended him with immediate effect under Rules 12 (1) (a) of OCS (CCA) Rules, 1962 until further orders.

As reported by Puri Collector, Jena has failed to discharge his assigned duties during distribution of cash assistance of Rs 1,000 to ration card holders under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) on April 10 against the assigned date on April 2.

“The delinquent has failed to perform his assigned  duties by not adhering to the Government order on social distancing during distribution of financial assistance to ration card holders in Wards-6 and 7 of Nimapara NAC,” the order reads.

It is further ordered that during the period of suspension, the Headquarters of Jena will be the office of the Project Director, District Urban Development Agency, Puri and he shall not  leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the competent authority.
