Nine-yr-old girl risks life to save little sister fallen into well in Odisha

Sonepur: A nine-year-old girl received huge applause for her bravery and courage after she risked her life to save her little sister, who had fallen into a well here in the district.

The brave girl identified as Jhili Bagha, the daughter of Lakhmi Charan Bagha, a resident of Kendumunda in Badabhainro panchayat, just seven km away from Tarbha in Sonepur district.

According to reports, Jhili’s younger sister Mili (3) fell into a 25-ft-deep well while playing in a garden in front of her house with her and her friend Ritanjali Bagarti on Saturday afternoon. After Jhili found her sister inside the well filled in water, she suddenly jumped into the well to rescue her sister asking her friend to inform her family members about the incident.

She managed to save her sister in deep-neck water. The family members and locals rescued the duo with help of rope from the well. Jhili came out of well successfully along with her sister.
