While  Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) university has got 53 position in National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) rating released yesterday in New Delhi.

But, sadly  none of the Odisha government run universities features in the top 100 list. Odisha has 16 universities, ten of them run by state government. This is because most of them have missed the deadline to apply for the NIRF rating.

The MHRD National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF) which was announced yesterday is based on four categories- engineering, management, pharmacy and universities.

NIT Rourkela  is ranked 19 among all India engineering institutions. While, IIT Bhubaneswar has been ranked 26, both are under the MHRD ministry. KIIT holds 32 rank, NIST Berhampur 69 position, CV Raman College of Engineering 74 rank and Centurion is at 81. Not a single management institute from the state has not featured in top 50 B schools in Odisha.

Notably, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi occupy the first, second and third positions in India respectively.

NIRF had scrutinized the universities employing various parameters which included Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research Productivity, Impact and IPR (RPII), Graduation Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Perception.
