NMB Memo Tourney : Saheed Sporting trounces Biswabharati

Saheed Sporting today beat Biswabharati Cricket Club by a whopping 188 runs in a 40-40 match of the Old Monk Club Soda NM Bhuyan Memorial cricket tournament being organised by Mukteswar Cricket Club (MCC) at the BJB College ground here.

Saheed Sporting which was put in to bat by Biswabharati raced to 291 for 9 thanks to a swash-buckling knock by star cricketer Rashmiranjan Parida (73) who was ably assisted by Shreehari (47), Rakesh Patnaik (43) and Rakesh Gochhayat (40).

For Biswabharati, Satyajit Beura bagged 3 wickets while it was 2 each for Partha Samal and Sanujit Samal.

Biswabharati’s woes in the field continued with the bat as well,

Wickets tumbled in quick succession as batsmen failed to negotiate some tight and intelligent bowling by Manoj Barik (4/22) and Sourav Khan( 3/10). The team struggled hard to reach the 100 mark and added 3 more runs before folding up in the 28^th over.

RR Das (34) and Preetam Singh (21) were the only ones to show some resistance.

Rashmi Ranjan Parida was the clear choice for the Man of the Match award which he received from Sabyasachi Patnaik at the end of the match.

On Wednesday Rameswar Sporting will take on Scan Sporting.
