No Bali Jatra this year in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: The world famous historic maritime festival Bali Jatra will not be held in Cuttack this year, informed Collector Bhabani Shankar Chaini.

The decision was taken in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, he added.

“It is not possible to conduct Bali Jatra, in which traders from various parts across the country participate, this year keeping in view the current health crisis,” said the senior official.

Besides, restrictions will also be imposed on celebration of Boita Bandana,  a mass commemoration of the maritime glory of the people of the state, on the occasion of Kartika Purnima, informed the Cuttack Collector.

“It is also not possible to conduct Bada Osa at Dhabaleswar temple in Athagarh block of the district,” Chaini added.
