Darshan at Puri Srimandir sans COVID report from tomorrow

Puri:  From tomorrow, devotees visiting Puri Srimandir will no more have to produce their COVID-19 test report to have darshan of the deities.

A review meeting of Collector Samarth Verma, DIG Ashish Singh and SP Kanwar Vishal Singh was held earlier today to ensure smooth darshan of the deities by devotees.

Arrangements have been made to allow 30,000 devotees inside the centuries-old temple every day from tomorrow. They will not be  required to show their recent COVID-19 test report to enter the temple. A separate queue will be made for senior citizens

Official sources said 26 platoons of police force, two ASPs, seven DSPS and 20 Inspectors will be deployed around the temple and in the periphery for inspection.

After reopening of the shrine for general public on January 3, devotees had to show their recent COVID-19 report for visiting the temple. People with negative report only were allowed to enter Srimandir.
