No darshan at Puri Jagannath Temple for 5 hours today

Puri: The general darshan of deities at the Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain closed for devotees for five hours today.

As the Paitalagi Niti of Lord Jagannath will be conducted on the seventh day of Krushna Paksha in the month of Margasira, there will be no darshan at Srimandir from 5 pm to 10 pm on Monday, informed Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

Meanwhile, the Madhabananda Jew Temple at Niali in Cuttack district, which is considered the maternal uncle’s home of Lord Jagannath, is geared up for the ceremonial Prathamasthamee scheduled tomorrow. For the special occasion, new clothes and special offerings will be sent from the temple to Srimandir for deities.
