Bargarh: The famous 11-day-long Dhanu Jatra will not be held in Odisha’s Bargarh this year due to the COVID-19 situation, informed district Collector today.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting between the official and members of the Dhanu Jatra Committee held at the DRDA office.
Dhanu Jatra is considered as the largest open air theatre of the world. The fest depicts the mythological episode involving the killing of King Kansa in the hands of his nephew Lord Krishna.
Earlier, Bali Jatra in Cuttack, Paradeep, and Bhubaneswar was cancelled this year due to the pandemic.
