New Delhi, Apr 10:

Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik today denied of any discord within the BJD’s parliamentary party either in the Lok Sabha or in the Rajya Sabha.

“I don’t see any discord in the parliamentary party either in the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha,” said Patnaik speaking to the media after his meeting with party MPs at the BJD parliamentary party office here.

The BJD supremo discussed issues like railways, agriculture, Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy, the establishment of medical colleges with Central assistance with his party MPs.

“Issues concerning the state were discussed during the meeting. He (Naveen Patnaik) has assigned individual MPs to raise different issues which include railways, agriculture, MSP for paddy, Central government share allocation for the establishment of medical colleges in our state, development of our respective areas etc. He also asked them to follow up the issues,” informed Prabhas Singh, BJD MP talking to reporters after the meeting.

It may be recalled here that recently two BJD MPs Baijayant Panda and Tathagat Satpathy had entered into a proxy war of words on micro-blogging site Twitter giving rise to speculation that all was not well in the party.

Though Patnaik spelled it as ‘too early’ on the possible formation of ‘Third Front’, the Odisha Chief Minister had a meeting with his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Bannerjee in the Parliament house today.
