No Lockdown/Shutdown in Odisha cities for candidates appearing in JEE, NEET exams

Bhubaneswar: Good news for candidates appearing in JEE (Main) and NEET (UG) examinations in Odisha as there will be no lockdown or shutdown restrictions till September 14 in the cities or towns where both the examinations will be held.

In view of Odisha Government’s decision to facilitate free movement to candidates and their escorts, examination personnel and representative sf service providers for smooth conduct of high stake examinations at different centres in the State, there will be no lockdown or shutdown in force in the examination cities from August 30 to September 7 and from September 12 to September 14, 2020, informed Odisha Special Relief Commissioner.

As per partial modification of the order by Revenue & Disaster Management Department, all the candidates along with their guardians as well as the examination personnel are allowed to travel from their place to the examination centres either in their personal vehicles or hired or public service vehicles.

The copy of admit card of candidates or any other documents held by the candidates as well as the examination personnel will be considered as their valid movement pass throughout the State.

The organisers will ensure that all safety protocols relating to COVID-19 such as physical distancing, mask wearing, no spitting in public place, personal hygiene and sanitation are duly maintained inside the examination centres. The district authorities will ensure the same outside the examination centres.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to conduct JEE (Main) 2020 from September 1 to 6 and NEET (UG) on September 13 in the country.
