No power cut in Odisha this year: Energy Minister Pratap Deb

Bhubaneswar: In a major relief for electricity consumers in Odisha, Energy Minister Pratap Keshari Deb today said there will be no power cut in the state this year.

The minister’s statement holds significance as the state is currently reeling under blistering heatwave situation.

“There are speculative reports in media about chances of power cut. I assure everyone that there will be no power cut in Odisha, this year,” said Deb.

“Technical issues might cause temporary discontinuation of power supply in an area. However, there are no chances of power cut. Electricity is being supplied in the state as per the demand of the people,” he added.
