No respite from heat wave in Odisha; Talcher hottest at 43.1 degree C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha faced another day of high temperature in the scorching summer this year as the heat wave continued to shoot across the State.

Nine cities recorded maximum temperature above 40 degree Celsius yesterday. Talcher was the hottest place with the high temperature of 43.1 degree C followed by Titilagarh 43 degree C, Angul 42.7 degree C, Bhawanipatna 42.5 degree C and Balangir 42 degree C.

Jharsuguda stood at 40.9 degree C, Sonepur at 40.8 degree C and Sambalpur at 40.1 degree C.

However, Odisha’s twin city recorded below 40 degree C on Saturday. While Bhubaneswar had 39.5 degree C, Cuttack recorded the maximum temperature of 38.6 degree C.

According to IMD forecast, the heat wave will continue during next four days. The temperature is likely to rise by two-three degree Celsius till April 18.
