No respite from Heatwave condition in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The prevailing heatwave condition in Odisha is likely to continue till June 13, said the IMD in its weather bulletin today.

As per the prediction, heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh and Keonjhar on June 11 (Sunday).

Similarly, a few places in Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh and Keonjhar are likely to witness heatwave condition on June 12 (Monday), said the IMD.

Besides, the MeT department has predicted heatwave at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh and Keonjhar on June 13 (Tuesday).

The IMD has warned that the heatwave condition may affect the health of infants, senior citizens and sick people.

It has advised people to avoid direct exposure to sunrays and take all possible steps to avoid dehydration.

The MeT department has also advised people to arrange proper shelter for their domestic animals during the daytime.
