No threat to Hindus, temples in Afghanistan: Taliban Spokesperson

Bhubaneswar: With collapse of military and government in Afghanistan and Taliban swept into Afghan capital Kabul last week, the insurgent group clarified that it will not cause any harm to Indians and their religious sentiments in the country.

Speaking exclusively to Kanak News (the television vertical of Sambad Group) correspondent in Bhubaneswar over phone, Taliban Spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid said, “There is no threat to Indians especially to Hindus and their temples from Taliban in Afghanistan.”

When asked about abduction of Indians by Taliban fighters in Kabul, he refuted the allegation stating, “The report is not true.”

On alleged rising atrocities on women in Afghanistan after Taliban took control over the country after two decades, Mujahid said, “An administrative system is yet to be put in place under Taliban rule. All shall be well once the system comes in force in Afghanistan.”

In an exclusive telephonic conversation with Kanak News, the Taliban Spokesperson talked about crowd at Kabul airport.

“People in huge number rushed to the airport fearing Mujahideen fighters. They want to leave the country with their families in hopes of escape from Taliban,” the militant of Islamic terror outfit said.
