Nobel Laureate to grace convocation at Odisha-based KIIT University on Nov 8

Nobel Laureate in Physiology (Medicine) Prof Ferid Murad of USA will grace the 10th annual convocation ceremony of the KIIT University in Odisha’s capital city on November 8.

Prof Murad will will deliver the convocation address and also receive the Degree of DSc Honoris Causa.

Students of 2013-14 graduating batches from all streams of the University would receive their degrees on the occasion.

Besides, KIIT University will honour four other eminent personalities—Dr Justice Dalveer Bhandari, Judge, International Court of Justice, The Netherlands; Ms Angela Gomes, eminent social activist and founder and executive director, Banchte Shekha, Bangladesh; eminent poet and literary critic Padma Vibhushan Dr Sitakant Mahapatra and Ranjib Biswal, chairman of Indian Premier League (IPL)—with Honoris Causa Degree.

Besides, eminent danseuse Padma Vibhushan Dr Sonal Mansingh will also receive the Honoris Causa D.Litt as announced by the KIIT University last year.

Like every year, the University would confer Pradyumna Bal Memorial Gold Medal, PPL Gold Medal, Nanibala Memorial Gold Medal, Founder’s Gold Medals, Chancellor’s Gold Medals and VC Silver Medals on its most meritorious students at the convocation ceremony.
