Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (STJA) has filed a complaint with the Singhadwar police in connection with the alleged presence of non-servitors on chariots during the Ratha Jatra in Puri.
The complaint was lodged by Ajaya Kumar Jena, OSD (Development), STJA. He sought stringent action against the offenders.
"I am directed to inform you that we have noticed the presence of some unauthorized persons/ sevaks on the chariots during this year's Ratha Yatra. This is a clear violation of the Byabasthabali that has been formulated for smooth management of this year's Ratha Yatra," Jena wrote in the complaint.
"You are requested to identify the wrongdoers and take necessary action as per rules. Further, the name of the persons atop the chariots may please be verified and intimated to us for necessary communication to their higher authority to take suitable disciplinary action," he added.
Jena submitted two photographs and two videos regarding presence of the non-servitors on chariots of Lord Jagannath and Lord Balabhadra on July 7/ July 8.
