One from Odisha in top 100 list of Civil Services-2018 result

New Delhi: It has come as a huge embarrassment for Civil Services aspirants from Odisha as only a single candidate has figured in the list of Top 100 successful candidates.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today declared the result of Civil Services (Main)-2018 results.

While Anya Das secured 60th position putting her in top 100, only two students have found place in top 150. Soumya Ranjan Rout (118) and Upasana Mohapatra (119) are the two in the top 150 list.

Anya is currently serving in Indian Railway Personnel Service and this was her third attempt to crack IAS. A native of Jagatsinghpur, she currently stays at Jamshedpur.

Similarly, Jubin Mohapatra (235), Suvendu Kumar Patra (456), Sudhansu Nayak (500), Sanjay Sahu (526), Debraj Das (529), Somananda Sahoo (554), Rakesh Kumar Sahoo (627) and Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak (759) have cleared the examination said to be the toughest among all competitive examinations.

Kanishak Kataria has secured the top position this year. The others in Top 10 in the rank of merit are: Akshat Jain, Junaid Ahmad, Shreyans Kumat, Srushti Jayant Deshmukh, Shubham Gupta, Karnati Varunreddy, Vaishali Singh, Gunjan Dwivedi and Tanmay Vashistha Sharma.
