Normal life hit in Bhuban as BJP youth wing observes 12-hr bandh

Dhenkanal: Pressing for fulfillment of an eight-point charter of demands, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today observed a 12-hour bandh in Bhuban of Dhenkanal district today.

Schools, colleges, shops and other business establishments have remained closed as party activists staged picketing at various places in the town. Besides, the agitators staged a road blockade on NH-53 at Kalibazar bringing vehicular movements in the NAC to a standstill.

The eight demands include sub-division status for Bhuban, repair and widening of all roads in Bhuban NAC and construction of a permanent stadium. The activists threatened that they would intensify their stir in coming days if their demands are not met at the earliest.

Meanwhile, police personnel have been deployed in the locality to avoid any untoward incident during the protest.
