Life returning to normalcy in Odisha’s Bhadrak; curfew relaxed for 11 hrs

With life limping back to normalcy at violence-hit Bhadrak town in Odisha, the district administration is increasing the curfew relaxation duration day by day as the prohibitory orders were today relaxed for 12 hours– initially from 6 am to 5 pm and later extended for an hour till 6 pm.

The curfew will again remain imposed from 6 pm today to 6 am tomorrow.

Large number of people were seen in the markets shopping on the occasion of Maha Vishuba Sankranti and Odia new year during curfew relaxation period.

On the other hand, newly appointed Bhadrak SP Anup Kumar Sahoo assumed office today.

Meanwhile, as many as four teams of the district administration have started assessment of the damages in the violence as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sought a report in this regard in order to provide compensation to the affected people.

Notably, the communally-sensitive Bhadrak town was on boil after some inflammatory posts were posted on social networking site leading to tension between two communities.
