Nor’wester in Odisha from March 4!

Bhubaneswar: With sudden rise in mercury recording above 35 degree Celsius in many parts of Odisha, the condition is likely to be changed with nor’wester from March 4.

The regional MeT predicted nor’wester in coastal districts including Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha and Ganjam as well as some parts in southern Odisha from March 4 till 7. The nor’wester may bring down the temperature across Odisha.

The nor’wester may continue from March 4 till 7 in coastal and southern parts of the state. Despite rain and gusty wind, there will be no effect on heat, said Bhubaneswar MeT Director Sarat Chandra Sahoo.

Some parts of coastal Odisha will experience dense fog, he added.

Many places in Odisha experienced heat during the past few days with rise in temperature. While Malkangiri sizzled at 38.8 degree Celsius on Wednesday, Angul had 37.7 degree C, Talcher and Titilagarh recorded 37.5 degree C, the maximum temperature in twin city Cuttack and Bhubaneswar was above 36 degree C, Sonepur 36.8 degree C, Hirakud 36.7 degree C, Jharsuguda 36.6 degree C, Balangir 36.5 degree C, Sambalpur 36.2 degree C and Sundergarh recorded 36 degree C yesterday.
